The mechanism of perception

Return

The diagram shows how the conception and construction of my works structure the mechanism of perception

The perceptive experience, result of the integration between emotion, storage and expectations, tends to resolve the ambiguity and it helps the look, drugged by the greedy consumption and indistinct, to dispel the opacity that him surrounds for become saturated with humanity and start a lucid reflection on the contemporary world, in which neo-liberalism and globalization have weakened the rules that guaranteed a certain solidarity in the unholy pursuit of profit at any cost and in uncontrolled domain of nature.
The consciousness of the movement and the desire to change, signs of life, steer the perception by the size of pure enjoyment to the threshold of reason. Strong, then, feel the anxiety and the desire for the overcoming of cultural homologation, functional to system.

The synergy between knote and title,"instruments" of thought, gives a breath of life to the physicality of form, interpreting the "spirit of the time."

The functions of the knot: the multiple cohesion.

Symbolic Function

Recalls the complexity of life; in fact, the knot by its nature effectively embodies the concept of complexity; this characteristic comes because the knot is an element that, in spite it is an uniqueness objectual, reflects, by means of transposition, the many different meanings that the word knot takes.

Geometric and dinamic function

Configures, through the deformation of matter, a form that organizes and interprets the disorder.

Gives dimensions to the space: Euclidean and hyperbolic.

Looks like an attractor of a dynamical system: it establishes a perceptual adjustment of the oscillation around the knot.

Psychological function

Generates, for the empathy, an motor action which it is the repetition of the creative process , made up of expansions and compressions , signs of breaths and o impulses that evoke the flow of life: the knot deforms the material, the force to deform the bodies takes time, the time organizes the spaces and gives rhythm to the work.

Gives rise to the feeling of an imminent, inevitable and disturbing happen as a result of the dark energy that it is hided from the knotted matter and that barely seems to contain: often the sense springs forth from the lack, from what you do not see but of which we feel presence.

Organizes a form that does not arise from the coordination of a set of separate parts and harmoniously united but from a link in which each part has lost its autonomy, landing to a multiple cohesion. Compared to the criticality of the contemporary world, the individual discomfort loses its singular specificity to become the reflection of a common destiny.

Identity function

It is a sign of recognition.

The function of title.

The title of a work, not symbolic, it is not necessary, but if this there is transforms it in an experience, not a representation or imitation, that calls for an interpretation, making present what is apparently absent without any pretense of practicality.
It 'impossible to argue that the title, expression of a concept and not an unnecessary caption, explains in words what is in front of us because it remains ambiguous and complex.
Under the effect of the title, however, the work determines an awareness that goes beyond investigate the properties of a material object or seek a sterile list of meanings, but urges us to find an explanation that has a cultural value and of sense or of senselessness and randomness.
Thus, the viewer's perception is not driven only by formalistic elements but becomes also permeable to the thought that, providing significant indications not unobservable, activates his imagination to put into play a whole set of properties, of intentional and random relations, related to the historical context and belonging to a tradition that we not might to find elsewhere.
The imagination is promoter, not of an illusion, but of an manifold elaboration, made up of choices and of exclusions, in which come into play simultaneously feelings, emotions, expectations, images, thoughts and ideas, accompanying us along a path of reading, nor simple nor definitive, making you feel the need, surprising and indispensable, of do it again continuously. It is determined, then, the miracle of the transfiguration of a "thing" in a work, in a historical product of support to human experience that provides guidance in accessing the reality and rule the so of orientation in the world.
